What is your current availability for shoots?

Currently, I am also working as a full time high school teacher. For now my availability is during weekends, breaks, and summers. The earlier you reach out to me, the more likely we will be able to schedule a time to work together.

How do you determine pricing?

As I continue to develop my skills and grow my portfolio, I am likely to quote lower than other photographers and videographers doing this full time. I am happy to try to find something that works within your budget and is fair to us both. To provide a general estimate though, my starting place will be thinking of shooting time at an hourly rate of $100 per hour and editing time at an hourly rate of $50 per hour with about two hours of editing needed for every hour of shooting. This range may go up and down depending on the complexity or needs of a given project and any travel considerations.

Can you provide both videography and photography services for the same event?

In short, no. I am capable, and my cameras and gear are capable of shooting both photo and video, but the set up required to do both is different and they are two different activities that can’t be performed simultaneously. This is why people hire separate videographers and photographers. However, I may be able to provide a couple of photos if the primary focus is on video or to provide some video shorts for social media if the primary focus is on photos.

Do you provide professional headshots?

In general, no, at least not as a service for hire. We may be able to negotiate headshots being included as part of a larger project together, but on its own this is too small for me at this time to be its own project for hire.

Do you shoot for companies / businesses?

I certainly appreciate being considered for any company photo/video project, but in general I think I am better suited to shoot for individuals. As I am currently working as a team of one, I wouldn’t want to take on any project that was best served by a whole team of photographers / videographers, which is true for many large corporate events. However, if you are a small local business in need of promotional content for your website or social media, I would definitely be interested in helping you out!
